Our Training Sessions

What to Expect

Clinics will differ throughout the year, but our players will receive a special Hit the Mitt gift such as a t-shirt or a swag bag. We will also offer scholarships for all of our clinics.

Founder, Catherine Nelke, plans on establishing a non-profit foundation for kids with ADHD. We want to help kids and their families who cannot afford medication, treatment, or therapies.

Our Philosophy is simple: “Work hard, Play Hard” with “FUN-DAMENTALS”! Our clinics throughout the year will provide variety so be sure to sign up for our contact list!

We are building a roster of coaches for our organization. If you are interested in coaching (this includes high school and college students) please contact us. We will also be featuring surprise guest speakers at our clinics to mentor, educate, and encourage. Let us know if you have a story to tell.

AFTER SCHOOL CLINICS

Inclement Weather Policy

Florida weather conditions can change quickly. Our event/clinic directors will do their best to make the call the night before, or early morning prior to check-in. If possible, participants will be contacted via text with any updates. On the premise, the event director will inform you verbally if activities must be delayed or stopped, and when and if the event can resume.

If the event is canceled “ last minute”, we will reschedule that event for another day.

Refunds will only be given if participants notify HTM 14 calendar days prior to the event.

Events with light rain will continue unless there is lightning, high winds, or any other dangerous conditions present. This is in accordance with City of Saint Petersburg Parks and Rec regulations regarding weather. If lightning is present after the event has already begun, it may be necessary to wait 30 minutes to restart. HTM will do everything possible to resume the event.  If the event cannot be resumed, participants will be credited for a make-up clinic which will be arranged in a 7 day period from the day of cancellation. Please note that private coaching lessons must be directly re-arranged between the coach and client.

All players registered must abide by our code of conduct:

I will play for fun
I will work hard to improve my skills
I will be a team player and help other players
I will be on time
I will be a good sport
I will respect my coach, other players, and all participants at the clinic
I will not engage in any antagonistic behaviors towards other players

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the clinics and what are they like?

Will all of the clinics be the same?

What should players wear and bring with them?

Additional session information.

Do the players get breaks?

what time does check in start?

Generally, clinics are 3 hours with a break in the middle. Players will have a quick warm up and then will break out into smaller groups to do their drills. The first part of the clinic, players will go through various drills for different skills ( Drills and skills 😃!) After the break, a few more drills and then it's time for” Hit the Mitt Mayhem”... In the interest of not spoiling the surprise, let's just say that it will be a great photo op!

No way! There are just too many fun things we can do!! Some of our events will have multiple sessions and THOSE sessions will be the same. But each event will be unique. We hope to offer some events and sessions focused on particular skills such as hitting, pitching, catching, and so on. We will communicate all of that when we announce our individual events. But one thing WILL remain the same: the surprise fun at the end of each session will be memorable and fun! Don’t miss out!

Shorts, t-shirts, and baseball hats are perfect for our clinics. Sneakers are best as some of our sessions will be indoors. Players should bring their personal baseball equipment that they would normally wear or bring to a game. Bring your personal water bottle if you wish! ( Please note that all dudes are responsible for making sure their own “dude gear” leaves the field with them! 😀) If a player doesn’t have any equipment please contact Catherine Nelke through the contact page.

Please check in at designated time for your session and re-check the exact location. Before the clinic/event be sure to check the website for any updates regarding weather or event information.
